Step Up Latrobe Valley

COMPLETE THE JULY 2026 - JUNE 2027 REFERRAL FORM HERE.

The Ladder Step Up Latrobe Valley program helps young people aged 16-25 to improve across four key domains: education, employment and training, health and wellbeing, independent living skills & community connection.

Throughout the six-week intensive program, young people have the opportunity to participate in individual and group development sessions, group camps, community projects and work experiences. Following the six weeks, young people are provided with a further 12 months of 1:1 support from their Ladder Development Coach.

In addition to the support young people receive from their Ladder Development Coaches, they have the option to be matched with a mentor from the community to guide them and assist them in reaching their goals.

Program Outcomes

To date, 304 young people have successfully graduated the program.

Of these young people:

  • 93% are engaged in education, employment and training post the Ladder program
  • 98% built a trusting relationship with Ladder staff
  • 90% feel more connected to their community
  • 90% feel more positive about their future

“Without Ladder I don’t know where I’d be. To … the team thank you for saving me. I now own my life and I am the one who chooses my own path” - Step Up Latrobe Valley program participant.

To learn more about the impact Ladder has had in the Latrobe Valley, read the Step up to success: a long-term evaluation report of the Ladder Step Up Latrobe Valley program here.
